Create new category in a form/post

To create a category from the front end, you can use the Formidable Forms Pro plugin already active on your site.

Here is how to set it up:

  1. Create a Form: Go to Formidable > Forms and create a new form. Add a “Text” field for the category name.
  2. Set up Actions: In the form Settings > Actions & Notifications, add a Create Post action.
  3. Map Taxonomy: In the “Create Post” settings, look for the Taxonomies/Categories section. Map your text field to the “Category” taxonomy and select the option to “Create new category if it doesn’t exist.”
  4. Publish: Embed this form on any page using the Formidable shortcode.
